Kathleen McDermott

Is a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing from CSU Fullerton, CSULB, & CSULA, a Master's in Psychiatric Nursing from Columbia University, and Bachelor's degrees from Villanova (Psychology) and SUNY-Stonybrook (Nursing).
 
With over 20 years of experience, she is known for helping individuals 14 years of age and older struggling with anxiety, depression, trama, sleep challenges, ADHD, PTSD, mood and bipolar spectrum disorders, achieve improved and stabilized moods through an integrative approach of holistic alternatives and prescription medication.
 
Specializing in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, person-centered, trauma-informed care and psychopharmacological medication management, she uses integrative treatment strategies that are individualized, healing-centered, and evidenced-based to help people manage symptoms with medication management, supportive therapy, and holistic alternative approaches.
 
Her greatest focus is providing a safe, non-judgmental space that empowers people to improve how they feel through a comprehensive and holistic model of wellness.

Tele-Health Education & Learning in Psychiatry (T-HELP) Grant Clinical Faculty supervising graduate-level psychiatric nurse practitioner students in learning and utilizing telehealth technologies through
